2017 District 3A-4 Baseball Champions – Bishop McLaughlin Catholic High School

May 5, 2017 – The Bishop McLaughlin Catholic High School Baseball team won the 2017 District 3A-4 Championship on Friday night at All Saints Academy.  Bishop defeated Cambridge Christian 2-1 in eight innings behind stellar pitching from starter Hunter Gillespie (6.0 IP, 0 ER, 6K) and closer Manny Sado (2.0 IP, 0 Hits, 0 ER).  Cambridge scored first on an unearned run in the third inning and Bishop posted their own unearned run in the sixth to tie the game at 1 apiece.  In the eighth inning, Adam Berry slapped the game winning RBI single just past a diving defender at second base, scoring Hunter Green for the victory.  The 2017 District Championship marks the fourth consecutive district championship for Bishop McLaughlin Catholic High School.

Bishop McLaughlin will host the Master’s Academy in the first playoff round on Wednesday, 5/10/2017.
