BMCHS Student Government
WHAT IS STUDENT GOVERNMENT?
Student Government is a club at Bishop McLaughlin organized to help develop student leaders in their school and community. The purpose of the club is to build school spirit, provide a good example for students, and learn how to develop into a leader for the school and beyond! This year the BMCHS Student Government has continued to help the school and community with activities such as Spirit Week, the Homecoming Dance, Family Feud, Jeopardy!, Color Games, and more!

The SGA is responsible for all the Blood Drives on campus, and this spring, more students than ever before came out to donate. The Thanksgiving Drive collects food for a women’s shelter, and this Easter, the SGA will sponsor another drive not only for food, but to bring some spirit with eggs and candy! The Student Government members are the best representatives of the school and lead our Open Houses with tours for new students and their families.
We also started expanding outside the school to connect with other Student Governments across the nation at the Southern Association of Student Councils Conference and the Florida Association of Student Councils Conference. BMCHS is a growing school and is able to get numerous good ideas from these opportunities to network with other schools and get fresh ideas.
We are always looking for new members to get involved from every class in the school. If you are smart, motivated, and want to get involved and help your school community, then please think about getting involved in SGA.
If you have any questions about the club and what kind of activities and commitments are involved, please contact the moderator, Ms. Plummer
